Regional Government awards five new contract works for the rehabilitation and recovery of the Region's housing stock
The Regional Secretariat for Social Solidarity, through the Regional Directorate for Housing, has awarded five contract works, following direct adjustment procedures with regional companies, for the construction, improvement and rehabilitation of six dwellings owned by the Region that are located on the islands of S. Miguel , Faial and S. Jorge.
Included in the Regional Public Works Charter, these works encompass the construction of two dwellings in the village of Fajã de Baixo and the rehabilitation of two dwellings in the village of S. José; both villages are located in the municipality of Ponta Delgada.
It also comprises the construction of one dwelling in the village of Urzelina in the municipality of Velas and the construction of another one in the village of Flamengos in the municipality of Horta.
The awarded contract works represent a public investment of around 417 thousand Euros.
These initiatives fall within the Regional Government's goal to provide Azorean families with better housing conditions and contribute to the revitalisation of the regional construction sector in the Azores, through the investment in the redevelopment and preservation of the Region's housing stock.
