The new Regional Campaign to Prevent Dating Violence, developed under the theme "Embark on this Challenge. Venture into Healthy Love," was presented today in Praia da Vitória during a session attended by the Regional Director for Social Solidarity, Frederico Sousa.
This campaign aims, on the one hand, to prevent dating violence and raise awareness for the harmful impact of this social phenomenon in adolescence and, on the other hand, to promote healthy affective and love relationships, based on respect, trust, love, sharing and dialogue.
The event is the result of a joint initiative between the Regional Secretariat for Social Solidarity, through the Regional Directorate for Social Solidarity, and the "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Praia da Vitória, through the Local Centre for Prevention and Combat to Domestic Violence.
The campaign will be implemented throughout the Region in partnership with the Integrated Network of Support to Women at Risk and the Local Centres for Prevention and Combat to Domestic Violence, under the administration of the Azores Social Security Institute. Its implementation includes the dissemination of all procedures and awareness-raising materials designed for this purpose.
The initiative also involves several entities that work, directly or indirectly, with youngsters, such as schools, Private Social Solidarity Institutions and local businesses.
