Andreia Cardoso says all Azorean municipalities have social responses for childhood
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity revealed in Angra do Heroísmo that all Azorean municipalities are provided with social responses in the area of childhood. These social infrastructures are "essential for the reconciliation between work and family life."
Andreia Cardoso stressed that the Regional Government is aware of the challenges brought by the reorganisation of family roles, recalling the importance of day care centres in the development of children as well as in the role of early intervention.
The Regional Secretary spoke at the signing ceremony of a Value-Investment Cooperation Agreement with "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Angra do Heroísmo. With a budget of 172 thousand Euros, this intervention is aimed at the rehabilitation of a Day Care Centre and Kindergarten that are property of the institution.
"We are talking about a space that provides a response to almost 100 children living in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo." In this regard, the government official added that "children and their parents as well as professionals working in this institution will have better conditions for the exercise of their activity, which is essential for us."
"Investing in children is crucial because it gives us the opportunity to ensure a bright future for the Region," said Andreia Cardoso.
