Decree regulating nanny services in the Azores already published in the Official Gazette
The Regional Legislative Decree no.18/2016/A establishing the legal scheme on the licensing, organisation and supervision of nanny services in the Azores has already been published in the Official Gazette.
The performance of this activity is subject to licensing and may be carried out within an institution providing nanny services or through direct hiring by parents or legal guardians.
Nanny services are an alternative social response to the daycare and are intended to help families in the care of children in a family environment, with the necessary conditions for their full development.
Nannies may take care up to four children, aged between months old and three years.
This legislative initiative stems from the Azorean Government's strategy for the expansion and qualification of social responses directed to children in order to ensure conditions that facilitate the reconciliation of the family and professional lives of Azorean families.
