Government improves housing conditions for 28 families on S. Miguel
The Government of the Azores will improve the housing conditions of 28 households on the island of S. Miguel under the programme for the renewal of degraded housing.
An investment over 401, 000 Euros, the new support measures were allocated today by the Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity, Ana Paula Marques during a ceremony held at the premises of the Regional Directorate for Housing in Ponta Delgada.
According to the government official, another 412 families have been supported on this island in the current legislative period under the programme for the renewal of degraded housing, which represents a global investment of nearly 8.6 million Euros. The support awarded by the Azorean Government has been managed by their families or through the collaboration with local authorities and Private Social Solidarity Institutions.
Ana Paula Marques also emphasised the importance of housing policy under the programme for the renewal of housing carried out by the Regional Government in order to improve their housing conditions, support the viability of construction sector and the maintenance of jobs.
