Government invested over 20 million Euros in the area of housing on Terceira in three years
The Regional Government has already invested over 20 million Euros in the area of housing on the island of Terceira during the current legislative period.
The amount was revealed by the Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity today in Angra do Heroísmo at the end of a ceremony to sign the orders awarding the financial support for the renewal of degraded housing.
Ana Paula Marques also informed that 200 projects for the renewal houses have been approved in this three-year period, representing an investment of over 3.3 million Euros.
Regarding the programme to re-house deprived families, 10.5 million Euros have been invested on the same island and in the same period of time, benefiting 132 households.
The government official stressed that the investments in this and other areas, "such as the area of Social Security, with investments on the island's the social equipments," demonstrate the Government's effort to invest its savings in "the comfort" of families on this as on other islands.
This social policy - and in the case of the renewal of degraded housing - brings other advantages, such as the employment of local small companies and the renewal of "Terceira's beautiful rural building heritage."
