From next month, the Valorizar Network will undertake training courses on basic skills targeted at unemployed adults enrolled at Agencies for Qualification and Employment, who have not finished elementary school.
The 300-hour training course will focus on the areas of Portuguese language, math, communication technologies and citizenship. It aims to improve the skills of the underqualified unemployed.
Initially, there will be 10 groups, comprising 250 people. This initiative is expected to be extended to all islands by the first quarter of next year.
The courses will be taught by elementary school teachers, who were also enrolled at the Agency for Qualification and Employment.
This measure also aims to qualify the unemployed enrolled at the Agency for Qualification and Employment and simultaneously promote the integration of qualified workforce in the labour market.
In addition, this initiative is also intended to enhance the professional qualifications of the unemployed attending these courses.
