The Regional Government will support another thirteen families on the island of Santa Maria under the programme to support the renewal of degraded housing, representing an investment over 208 thousand Euros.
The Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity spoke at the ceremony for the allocation of these support measures on the island of Santa Maria. The government official recalled that these funds aim to provide families with better living and safety conditions. The support awarded by the Azorean Government will be managed by families or through the collaboration with local authorities and Private Social Solidarity Institutions.
Moreover, Ana Paula Marques recalled that 88 families from Santa Maria have been supported under the programme for the renewal of degraded housing in the current legislative period, corresponding to a total investment over 1.4 million Euros.
The Regional Government has already improved the housing conditions of 110 families on the island of Santa Maria. A total of 450 people have been covered by re-housing and lease incentive programmes as well as by measures intended to support the acquisition and renewal of degraded housing. These support programmes represent an investment of about 1.9 million Euros.
