The Government of the Azores signed in Angra do Heroísmo on Monday a contract for the provision of home care with Home Instead Senior Care, whose services will be rendered by the company Sousa & Sousa, Lda. With this contract, the Government intends to create and develop elderly home support services on the island of Terceira.
This is another private investment carried out in the social area in the Azores, which is supported by the Regional Government under the Programme to Support Private Initiative in the Azores – PAIPA, approved by Ordinance no.44/2008 of May 30.
With a capacity for 25 users, this service reinforces the support provided to the elderly and the expansion of the social network in the Region whilst creating 10 permanent jobs.
Under this contract, 25 thousand Euros were allocated by Regional Government of the Azores for the current year (7 months) in order to promote the creation and development home care services for the elderly.
The contract was signed by the Regional Director for Social Security, Paula Ramos, on behalf of the Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity, Ana Paula Marques.
