Government supports the construction of social infrastructures in Rabo de Peixe and Arrifes
The Azorean Government will support, up to the maximum amount of 5.3 million Euros, the construction of several social infrastructures under the supervision of the “Casa do Povo” of Rabo de Peixe and the Arrifes Social and Parish Centre on the island of São Miguel.
This governmental support is integrated in the cooperation-investment agreements, published in the Official Journal on Monday, which were signed between the Regional Secretariat for Labour and Social Solidarity and these institutions located in the municipalities of Ribeira Grande and Ponta Delgada, respectively.
These measures will cover the contract works for the construction of a Day Nursery, an Elderly Home and a Day Centre in Rabo de Peixe, and a Day Nursery and a Free Time Occupation Centre in the village of Arrifes.
Under these agreements, the subsidies will be allocated in two stages: 1,450 thousand Euros in the 2011 budget and 2,750 thousand Euros in the 2012 budget.
Both institutions are required to carry out these investments by the end of 2012 in accordance with the projects approved by the legally competent entities.
