Government of the Azores formalises support to benefit families living in the village of Capelas, Ponta Delgada
The Government of the Azores signed a cooperation agreement with the Village Council of Capelas, municipality of Ponta Delgada, amounting to 45 thousand Euros. It is intended to support to rehabilitation of six dwellings requiring urgent intervention.
"Once again, we intend to fulfil our mission to support those in need, such as housing support in this specific case, with the establishment of partnerships that allow us to extend our support measures to more beneficiaries," said the Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity, who spoke at the end of the ceremony.
These homes are owned by households with elderly family members that have few resources and limited capacity to request and manage support. In this specific case, the Government will allocate the amount of 35 thousand Euros for the interventions, while the local village council will provide labour force, representing an estimated cost of 10 thousand Euros.
"The Village Council of Capelas has been a very important partner of the Regional Government in local action to support families in the area of housing, especially in the provision of minimum housing conditions in terms of safety, health and comfort to nearly 20 families," stressed said Andreia Cardoso.
In this context, the Regional Secretary recalled the signing of three cooperation agreements with this local authority in the current legislative period, representing a government's investment of about 90 thousand Euros.
