Government of the Azores promotes training for intervention in Temporary Shelters and Homes for Children and Youth
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity stated in Ponta Delgada the importance of training to ensure an adequate response to the level of intervention in Temporary Shelters and Homes for Children and Youth.
"We cannot require a specialised and adapted response to the new knowledge and new strategies without contributing to the training of front line players in this huge fight for the promotion of warming human environments that, in turn, promote reintegration in family and community life.
The Regional Secretary spoke at the opening of the Meeting on Training and Best Practices Sharing in the area of intervention in Temporary Shelters and Homes for Children and Youth. The event was sponsored by the Government Regional.
"Taking into consideration the importance of the work carried out the board and the teams of Temporary Shelters and Homes for Children and Youth in the Azores, the Government has outlined a training plan whose main goal is to contribute to the ongoing qualification of the professionals involved in this area."
The implementation plan has been carried out by technical support teams of regional shelter and homes and resulted in the organisation of a series of training activities since the beginning of this year.
The meeting held today in Ponta Delgada aims to provide a space for sharing best practices, experiences and issues that may be common to the various participants in the process.
