Government of the Azores signs cooperation agreement with "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Vila Franca for housing recovery
The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Secretariat for Social Solidarity, signed today a cooperation protocol and support management contracts with "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Vila Franca do Campo to fund the rehabilitation and renewal of homes located in this municipality.
"The contracts are intended to provide the minimum living conditions in terms of health and safety to seven families, covering a total of 30 people," said Andreia Cardoso.
For these contracts, the Region will allocate financial resources over 45 thousand Euros, while the "Santa Casa da Misericórdia," in addition to ensuring the good management of these funds, will provide labour, estimated at about 15 thousand Euros. The overall investment supported by public and private entities reaches 60 thousand Euros.
The "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Vila Franca do Campo has been a good example of a fruitful partnership with the Government. For several years, it has been a partner under numerous partnerships to help those who have less, such as in the case of housing, helping them to manage and collaborate in the recovery process of their homes. This institution has enhanced the efforts carried out by the Government, making good use of these investments," said Andreia Cardoso.
During this legislative period, the Government of the Azores has supported, through protocols and collaboration agreements with institutions and local authorities, 600 families in the archipelago, a public investment of nearly three million Euros.
