Parental education project supports relationship between parents and children, says Andreia Cardoso
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity stressed in Praia da Vitória the importance of the parental education project promoted by the Government, through the Social Security Institute, considering that this initiative aims to support the relationship between parents and children.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of this project, Andreia Cardoso said the project aims to "strengthen parenting skills" and specify the strategies and rules "within the relationship between parents and children."
For the Regional Secretary, these rules have "positive effects" in the future of children "in school environment and throughout life." In this context, the government official defended that the key to the development and integration of children is "a happy family, a proper education, health and leisure."
This project covered fifty families. It consisted of two modules, one specifically directed to parents with children up to five years and the second aimed at families with children above that age, involving the participation of children and parents.
The training course was taught by technicians from Angra do Heroísmo Social Security and Praia da Vitória Social Security Services. Their work and commitment was praised Andreia Cardoso for having engaged in the project "far beyond their professional obligations."
The initiative had the logistical support of Praia da Vitória City Hall and the Village Council of São Brás.
