Regional Government annually support Azorean families with eight million-Euro allocation for housing recovery
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity stated in Santa Cruz das Flores that the Government supports Azoreans families with an annual allocation of eight million Euros for the recovery of degraded housing and the acquisition of housing throughout the archipelago.
Andreia Cardoso spoke at the ceremony for the granting of support for the rehabilitation of degraded housing that took place under the statutory visit to Flores Island. On the occasion, she stated that this support has a dual purpose: "maintaining families in their area of residence and guarantee safe and adequate housing, as set out in the Constitution."
The government official signed today the contracts for the granting of support for the rehabilitation of degraded housing and the purchase of housing on Flores with six families, thus fulfilling their right to adequate housing with all the safety and comfort."
"We are talking about 11 people who will benefit from these support measures, including four families in the municipality of Santa Cruz and two in the municipality of Lajes. These contract represent an investment of 120 thousand Euros, said Andreia Cardoso.
Since 2016, the Government of the Azores has invested nearly 30 million Euros in the various housing programmes that are currently force in the Region, supporting more than 3,100 Azorean families.
