The Regional Government of the Azores has extended the deadline for the submission of applications to support the disinfestation and rehabilitation of buildings and houses infested with termites until September 30.

With the recent amendments to the Regional Legislative Decree no.22/2010/A of June 30, applicants are no longer required to be owners or co-owners of the property subject to intervention at the date of entry into force of the legislation. It established the control measures to be adopted in the cases of termite infestations as well as the legal framework on the allocation of support to disinfestation actions and the repair of property damaged by termites.

The Azorean Government considers that this amendment entered into effect on a date near the end of the deadline for the submission of applications, as provided in the Ordinance no.90/2011 of November 9. Hence, the Government has decided to extend the application period to the last day of September. This will allow interested parties to have the necessary and reasonable time to submit their applications.
