Regional Government increases allocation for COMPAMID - Supplement for the Purchase of Medicine by the Elderly
The Regional Government has made several changes to the Supplement for the Purchase of Medicine by the Elderly, the so-called COMPAMID, namely the increase in the amount to be allocated, from 315 Euros to 590.62 Euros.
The allocation period that ended in April was also extended to October, with a new period beginning in the following month. This measure aims to prevent the movement of pensioners under the measures in force due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In turn, the eligibility to these benefits will be verified by cross-checking information, which will exempt pensioners from providing proof of their annual income to the Social Security.
To benefit from COMPAMID, after purchasing medication, pensioners only have to deliver the medical prescription or the respective treatment guide and the invoice/receipt as proof of payment to the Social Security services or send to the email [email protected].
The Supplement for the Purchase of Medicine by the Elderly - COMPAMID - is specifically intended for the purchase of medication prescribed by the Regional Health Service.
COMPAMID covers pensioners residing in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, aged 65 or over, and those who, regardless of their age, are entitled to social benefits for inclusion with a degree of disability certified by a multipurpose medical certificate equal to or greater than 80%.
This supplement can also benefit people receiving disability pensions, whose "per capita" income does not exceed 14 times the minimum monthly wage in force in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (14 x 630.00 Euros), calculated in accordance with the latest personal income tax declaration available.
