Regional Government to channel funds from Community Support Framework for companies promoting social inclusion
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity revealed today that the Regional Government will channel funds from the Community Support Framework 2014-2020 for companies promoting social inclusion as a strategy the promote the employability of people in a situation of social vulnerability.
With this investment, the Government intends to boost the growth of these companies in the Azores, "strengthen the quality" of existing companies and extend social inclusion initiatives, from people with disabilities to people at risk.
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity spoke at the end of the initiative "Roteiro Cores," during which she visited various institutions for two days. According to her, "there are "experiences that could be further developed" and the institutions promoting social inclusion that may "benefit from EU funding" or create similar initiatives.
There a "window of opportunity," the government official said, stressing the importance of the approaches followed by these companies in promoting "a more human economy that is closer to citizens."
For the Regional Secretary, structural funds allocated to period 2014-2020 privilege companies promoting social inclusion, the role of solidarity economy as a tool "to fight social discrimination." In fact, the new Community Framework "acknowledges the approach underlying solidarity economy."
"This is certainly an area with future prospects as these companies defend an approach on the promotion of employment that fits perfectly into the new Community Support Framework," said Piedade Lalanda.
