The 21st Century Park in Ponta Delgada will be closed from today until May 27 due to various maintenance interventions intended to improve that space.
The planned interventions represent a total investment of about 30 thousand Euros. They are intended to improve the security of this space, namely by creating a physical barrier to main fountain and the improvement of the pavement surface in the areas near the waterfalls and the water mirror.
Moreover, there are also planned interventions for the maintenance of technical infrastructures and installation of new devices in the children's playground.
As the interventions require the use of heavy equipment, the park will be closed until May 27 in order to ensure the safety of users.
The Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Transport and Public Works, manages this park, which is specifically directed to children, young people and families. It includes a garden with several leisure areas, lawns, a playground, an area for games, a circular-shaped amphitheatre, a stage and a support building.
