The Regional Director for Public Works and Communications stated in Lisbon that the Regional Government has actively participated in the reflection on cyber resilience.
Frederico Sousa spoke Tuesday at the end of the fourth meeting of the Cyber Resilience Reflection Group at the National Defence Institute. On the occasion, he stated that "this reflection aims to create tools supporting the decision-making process, promoting and raising awareness of security and defence, besides the dissemination of knowledge and good practices.”
For the accomplishment of this task, this Reflection Group "includes several public and private entities with competences and responsibility in matters of defence, policy making, management and protection of critical infrastructures," stressed the Regional Director.
In this regard, Frederico Sousa stated that the Regional Government "has implemented an investment strategy in strengthening the resilience of information and communication systems, whether in cybersecurity tools or technical resources."
It should be recalled that the Regional Government is also a member of the Higher Cyberspace Security Council and has, thus, contributed to the definition and implementation of the National Cyberspace Security Strategy.
The Cyber Resilience Reflection Working Group was created to promote the study and debate of matters pertaining to cyber resilience with relevance for public and private sector institutions, particularly for national critical infrastructures.
