Three proposals for construction of ferry with capacity for 650 passengers and 150 vehicles presented
The public opening of the proposals submitted under the restricted tender procedure by previous qualification for the construction of a Ro-Ro vessel to the Autonomous Region of the Azores with capacity for 650 passengers and 150 vehicles was carried out today.
The tenderers qualified in the first phase of the procedure submitted the following proposals: Astilleros Armon, S.A., with a base price of 47.5 million Euros; Hijos de J. Barreras, with a base price of 59 million Euros; Amedeo Resources PLC and Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding CO Ltd consortium, with a base price of 43.5 million Euros.
The analysis and evaluation phase of proposals will now take place as required in the tender programme and specifications, after which the preliminary report will be issued and a prior hearing period will be granted to tenderers.
Upon the conclusion of the prior hearing period, a final report will be issued for the decision of the Regional Secretary of Transport and Public Works.
The jury of the tender is chaired by José Manuel Monteiro da Silva, retired Judge Counsellor of the Court of Auditors.
According to the specifications, the delivery period of the vessel to be built is set at a maximum of 580 calendar days.
