Ana Cunha highlights investment in creation and upgrading of viewpoints on regional roads
The Regional Secretary for Transport and Public Works highlighted in Calheta, São Jorge Island, the investment that the Regional Government has been making in the "upgrading of several viewpoints and points of interest along regional roads."
Ana Cunha stated that these actions, as well as the creation of other visiting sites, cover all the islands as they fall within the plan for the landscape rehabilitation and integration of areas adjacent to the regional road sections.
The Secretary for Public Works spoke at the end of a visit to the recently created Pedras Brancas Viewpoint and the Rua de Baixo Viewpoint, currently under redevelopment, both located in the municipality of Calheta.
Ana Cunha also mentioned other interventions "still under way," recalling that, since the beginning of the current legislative term, the Regional Government has already invested about two million Euros in viewpoints and areas adjacent to regional roads throughout the archipelago.
"These interventions have been carried out on all islands of the Region and today we are visiting two points of interest on São Jorge Island," said the government official. In this regard, she added that the Pedras Brancas Viewpoint was created from scratch in a r work recently completed by the local company Vítor Manuel Dias Fernandes, Sociedade Unipessoal, an investment of about 30 thousand Euros.
In turn, the Rua de Baixo Viewpoint was upgraded in an intervention carried out by the company AFAVIAS, an investment over 80 thousand Euros.
