Azores Tourism marks entry into force of the new model of accessibility to the Region
The Azores Tourism association will mark the entry into force of the new model of accessibility to the Region from Friday to April 4 with the promotion of several activities to welcome passengers at all Azorean airports with links to external destinations.
On Sunday, March 29, passengers arriving at Ponta Delgada airport from flights departing from Lisbon and Porto may attend can watch the performance of a folk dance group and will receive promotional materials about the Region. This activity will also take place from April 1 to 4.
Hotels and other accommodation units will offer guests assorted sweets.
Also on Sunday, the same activities will be organised at the airports of Santa Maria, Terceira and Faial, where passengers will be welcomed with the performance of a folk dance group. They will also have the opportunity to taste regional products.
Guests staying at accommodation units on Faial will receive a souvenir in fish scales while those who will stay on Terceira will be offered a beverage coaster. Moreover, guest visiting Santa Maria will receive a box with traditional "cavacas" (sugar-glazed olive oil biscuits).
On March 30, passengers arriving to the island of Pico will have the opportunity to taste traditional products and attend the performance of a folk dance group.
Guests staying at local accommodation units will be offered miniature bottle of Lajido (traditional fortified wine from Pico).
The entry into force of the new model of accessibility to the Region will be also marked on the remaining islands with the offer of a typical "queijada" (traditional sweet) on Graciosa, an embroidery piece on Flores, a key chain with a traditional cap on Corvo and a traditional sweet assortment on São Jorge.
