Azores to host Red Bull Cliff Diving in the next two years, announces Vítor Fraga
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport announced at the end of Saturdsay morning that the Azores will host again the Portuguese stage of Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in 2015 and 2016.
Speaking to journalists after the conclusion of this stage that was held in Vila Franca do Campo Islet, Vítor Fraga stressed that the organisation of this event in the Azores in the next editions is the result of the Government's efforts to promote events that "privilege a closer contact with the most important aspect of our destination - nature."
Given the consistency in the organisation of this event, "we intend to reinforce the consolidation of all events, which will boost the estimated return of each event," said the Regional Secretary.
Vítor Fraga recalled that the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series "1.2 billion contacts throughout the season, which will clearly boost the Region's capacity to promote such events."
The Regional Government has established a protocol with Red Bull to secure the organisation of the event for the next two years, i.e., in 2015 and 2016. "In addition to being a source of pride for us, this fact demonstrates the importance of the Azores as well as our capacity to organise such events and boost their economic return."
Vítor Fraga also praised "the excellent cooperation between the Government of the Azores and Red Bull," which has ensured the organisation of the event in the Region over the next two years.
