Dissemination of the Azores as active nature destination has yielded "good results," says Vítor Fraga
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport stated today that the repositioning of the Azores as an active nature destination, mainly focused on the activities that can be developed in the Region and not just from a perspective of contemplative nature, "has yielded good results and proved to be a winning strategy."
Assessing the participation of the Azores at BTL - International Tourism Fair in Lisbon, Vítor Fraga stressed that the presentation of events at this fair "is in line with our strategy to show the activities we have to offer as events that can attract people and promote the Region abroad."
"Our strategy has been based in this type of communication and this is the guideline we will continue to develop in the future," added the government official.
For Vítor Fraga, BTL 2016 "was another event to promote the Region, where we were able to communicate at corporate level and where our entrepreneurs developed their activity on the days dedicated to industry professionals. We are also communicating directly with our target audience, which is our main goal, so that we can capture the attention of all people that may visit us and enjoy the best we have to offer."
The Regional Secretary stressed that "tourism is, above all, a business and business is done with people."
"It is essential to establish direct contact with people, not only with public authorities but above with all private entities," said Vítor Fraga.
"My presence here falls within the strategy of direct communication with the target audience and with potential investors in the Region, with the business partners that already work with the Azores Destination, in order to show them that the tourism sector is growing. It is a sustainable industry and we are all aligned in a joint work so that it becomes increasingly sustainable from an economical, environmental and social perspective," said the Regional Secretary.
