Under the recently announced programme for the Promotion of Employment and Competitiveness, the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures will strengthen its advanced training programmes.
In this context, the funding allocated to ongoing applications for doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships has been reinforced in order to extend the number of grants to be awarded.
This measure may support all projects whose quality is acknowledged through a process designed to assess their scientific merit (carried out by an external jury) and regional interest (carried out by Interdepartmental Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation).
With this reinforcement, the Regional Secretary estimates to award another 15 post-doctoral grants and 40 doctoral fellowships.
Furthermore, the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures has also formalised the opening of an application for fellowships intended to provide advanced training in the management of science, technology and innovation programmes in the context of projects under development at the Azores Science Centres.
