The Government of the Azores celebrates tomorrow the World Tourism Day, which will be held under the theme "Tourism & Water: Protecting Our Common Future".
To mark this date, the Government will organise several activities addressed at tourists on all islands.
Under this initiative, local products will be offered to guests staying at tourist accommodation units across the archipelago.
Additionally, there will be a tasting of regional products at tourism offices and promotional products highlighting the offer and specificities of the Azores Destination will be distributed at some airports.
Depending on the island they are visiting, tourists will have the possibility of tasting cheeses, wines, liqueurs and the traditional confectionery of each Azorean island; flowers and regional craft pieces may be also offered to visitors.
In the context of the celebrations of the World Tourism Day, the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport will visit a tourism undertaking on the island of Flores.
