Government of the Azores ensures continuity and stability of investment in transport and public works, assures Vítor Fraga
The Regional Secretary for Transport and Public Works stated in Horta that these sectors represent an investment of 156 million Euros in 2017.
Vítor Fraga spoke at the end of a hearing on the Committee on Economic Affairs of the Legislative Assembly, stressing that the planned investment ensures "continuity and stability in terms of investment over the next four years."
With regard to planned investment, Vítor Fraga highlighted the investment of about 14 million Euros in the improvement of roads. It will complete "all procedures in progress, through land circuits to support development and the rehabilitation of some of regional roads."
As for maritime and airport infrastructure, there is an expected "investment of 38.5 million Euros, which will bring gains in operation, efficiency and safety of infrastructures "said the Regional Secretary.
In the specific case of maritime transport, Vítor Fraga also mentioned "the continuity of all services we have been providing and the intention to launch the tender for the acquisition of the first two vessels for inter-island maritime transport this year, as planned."
