The Regional Secretary for Science, Technology and Infrastructures will meet with the Minister of Education and Science in Lisbon tomorrow, November 23, at 3 PM. The status of the regionalisation of the Meteorological Institute will be one of the subjects which José Contents expects to clarify with Nuno Crato.

It is recalled that the Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures, has defended the transfer of powers of the Meteorological Institute for the Azores. Hence, this body would be under the administration of the Regional Government.

José Contente also intends to make the Minister of Education better acquainted with the projects developed in the Azores in the field Science and Technology, particularly the scientific project to disseminate the Science Centres Route.

The government official will be available to speak to the press after the meeting at 5:30 PM, local time.
