Media coverage of the Azores Destination becomes important in the approach to tourism markets, says Vítor Fraga
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport stated today in Ponta Delgada that the media coverage of the events held in the Azores play an important role in the approach strategy to tourism markets.
Speaking to journalists after the delivery of the prizes of the 5th "Portas do Mar" Triathlon, Vítor Fraga pointed out that this strategy is based on the "direct communication with the tourism market in order to boost demand and stimulate an active marketing campaign on the part of all partners linked to the Azores Destination. Hence, we will be able to increase tourism flows to the Region, which will enhance our efficiency and enable us to seize the opportunities brought by a new reality that the Region will know in a near future."
The Regional Secretary stressed that the "Portas do Mar" Triathlon is another event that falls within the strategy to promote the organisation of events in the Region with two clear goals: "on the one hand, promote the Azores destination and, on the other hand, increase tourism flows."
The fifth edition of the "Portas do Mar" Triathlon featured the participation of 90 athletes. The event was covered by several television stations, newspapers as well as by sports and generalist magazines.
