The Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and infrastructures has built a new viewpoint in Ribeira das Cabras, located in the village of Praia do Norte.

This intervention undertaken by the Office of Faial Island included the installation of a treated pine fence and urban furniture, such as “basalt-like” tables and benches in concrete, as well as resurfacing works and the construction of pavements.

The works took into account the respect for the existing morphology in order to integrate it in the surrounding landscape, which also ensures the access of persons with reduced mobility, who will be provided with a ramp for wheelchairs, thus allowing them to enjoy the beauty of the place.

This new infrastructure, integrated in the interventions designed to enhance the landscape offer of the regional roads on the island of Faial, provides one of the most interesting tourist spots on the aforementioned island with comfort and safety conditions, allowing visitors to enjoy a view of rare beauty over the cliffs of Ribeira das Cabras and the Fajã. 

The new leisure area built on the island of Faial represents an investment of 15,000 Euros.
