Regional Government continues to invest in improvement of accessibility and mobility on Graciosa, says Ana Cunha
The Regional Secretary for Transport and Public Works assured in Santa Cruz da Graciosa that the Regional Government continues to invest in the improvement of accessibility and mobility conditions on this island.
In this context, Ana Cunha pointed out the contract work for the rehabilitation and expansion of the Regional Road no.1-2 in Terreiros, whose contract was signed in the context of the Government's statutory visit to Graciosa.
This work includes the demolition of the existing stone walls and the movement of soil for the expansion of the regional road. This phase is followed by the construction of new stone walls, the laying of kerbs and slabs for the construction of footpaths and the replacement of bituminous pavement in public collective car parks with capacity for 30 places.
This intervention will ensure a sufficient width to increase the parking lane and the footpaths in an area that has been registering a strong commercial expansion in recent years.
Ana Cunha also visited the works for the redevelopment of the Regional Road no. 3-2 in the section between Rua do Marítimo and the access to the Santa Cruz Health Centre. The intervention includes the construction of a wall, footpaths and the repaving of parking areas in order to ensure the improvement of this road and mobility conditions, thus keeping up with the growth and development of housing and service areas.
The Regional Secretary also took the opportunity to learn about the remodelling works of Feteira Picnic Park, which include the expansion of the parking area, the repair of stone walls and paving interventions.
