Regional Government moves forward with Competence Centre for procurement procedures, announces Ana Cunha
The Regional Secretary for Transport and Public Works announced today in Lagoa on São Miguel Island that the Regional Government will move forward with the creation of a Competence Centre for procurement procedures, "namely those subject to public tender."
Ana Cunha added that "it will operate under the administration of the Public Works department but will provide support to all governmental departments. The centre will contribute to the standardisation of procedures using our technical resources and human resources operating the Competence Centre with a view to greater efficiency and more transparency in procedures."
Ana Cunha spoke at NONAGON - São Miguel Science and Technology Park on the sidelines of the meeting of the Regional Council for Public Works, an advisory body of the Regional Secretary for Transport and Public Works (SRTOP) responsible for analysing various matters pertaining to civil construction and public works.
The Regional Secretary pointed out that this meeting also included the presentation of the Electronic Public Procurement Platform, which has been in operation since October 16. Moreover, the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory (LREC) presented the project for the implementation of the Platform for Creative Industries of the Azores (PICA), "which will also be involved in the updating of the catalogue of endogenous materials produced and processed in the Region."
