The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport announced today a new tourism operation for the island of Terceira, which will provide 1,500 seats, with departure from Lisbon, from May 1 to October 30.
The government official spoke to journalists after meeting with various entrepreneurs in the tourism sector. Vítor Fraga revealed that this operation "represents the coming of 1,500 potential tourists to the island of Terceira. Sales start Monday at Abreu Viagens and will run until June 30. The campaign is valid for travels in the period between May 1 and October 30."
According to Vítor Fraga, this operation "aims to increase tourism flows to the island of Terceira and contribute to the sustainability of the sector."
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport also mentioned "the good expectations for this year, which are the result of the efforts undertaken in the Region, namely the improvement of accessibility to the archipelago and the joint work that has been developed by public and private entities."
As Vítor Fraga revealed, the meetings held today "are part of a hearing” to this sector on the perspectives for this year in order to find "the best solutions to address the constraints that might arise in the development of the tourism sector."
