The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport meets with the representatives of IdeaStation, the tour operator that will be responsible for the seasonal operation that will connect Terceira to the United States of America. The event will take place in Angra do Heroísmo next Tuesday, September 15.
The meeting will address the details of this operation, which consists of 22 flights connections to Boston during the next IATA winter. The strategy will be mainly based on communication and sales through online channels. Every week, a total of 135 seats will be allocated for the North American market, with potential to attract 2,970 tourists.
This operation, publicly presented on August 18, is another piece in building one of the structural pillars on which the action of the Government is based in order to improve accessibility to Terceira Island and contribute to the development of tourism on this island and in the Region.
Hence, the operation conducted by IdeaStation aims to provide a response to the seasonality that is felt during the low season on Terceira. It is another example demonstrating that the Government of the Azores is aware of what is going on all the islands and seeks solutions for the challenges the sector is facing.
