Vítor Fraga reveals that Regional Public Administration Services will be available in Azores Cloud
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport announced today at the Legislative Assembly in Horta that the Government of the Azores will create the "Azores Cloud."
Vítor Fraga said the Government intends "to make the Regional Public Administration services available in a shared cloud, with equal access to all services of the Regional Administration. This initiative aims to improve the quality of the services rendered to citizens, regardless of the island where they live."
The Regional Secretary recalled that the Regional Government has created the "Digital and Technological Agenda for the Region (ADTA), whose main purposes include the promotion of innovation, the creation of added value for regional products, the overcoming of social challenges and the economic development of the Region."
In this context, the government official added that "we now have the possibility of achieving these goals" due to the expansion of fibre optic cable connection to all islands."
For Vítor Fraga, this is "a clear and determined investment made by the Government in this area."
The Regional Secretary also mentioned "the existence of specific in ADTA to attract investments in the technological infrastructures for the Region," stressing that is effort is being undertaken.
Vítor Fraga conveyed his belief that this effort "will bear fruit," thus contributing to the creation of added value and the generation of wealth in the Region. We also expect that these projects may even create highly skilled jobs."
Questioned about the regional road network, Vítor Fraga noted that the Government has a permanent concern to ensure high quality levels on Azorean roads.
As for the Regional Public Works Charter, 63 procedures for the renewal of the road network are estimated for the current legislative period. This, there is an estimated investment of 5.5 million Euros for the renewal, conservation and direct interventions to repair the damages caused by disasters," said the Regional Secretary.
"The reduction of accident rates in the Region demonstrates the quality of the investment made by the Government of the Azores in the road network over the years," said Vítor Fraga.
