The Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA), promotes the participation of the Azores and regional handicraft companies in the Lisbon International Craft Fair (FIA) that runs from June 29 to July 7.
The participation of CRAA in the Lisbon International Craft Fair aims to promote Azorean handicrafts and artisans with a view to reaching new audiences. For nine days, the event will bring together not only arts and crafts professionals and lovers, but also those interested in handicrafts as a cultural manifestation.
The 13 handicraft companies featured at this event, from Santa Maria, Terceira and São Miguel, will display works from various handicraft areas, with special emphasis on innovative, sustainable and certified productions under the Azores Handicrafts collective brand.
The dynamics of handicrafts is growing in the Azores with the emergence of new companies and job creation, playing a relevant role in the change, renovation and repositioning of the "Azores Handicrafts" collective brand.
This event is one of the most important platforms for the promotion and business opportunities of Azorean handicraft companies, promoting the exhibition and sale of traditional products. It also aims to improve the conditions in terms of internationalisation, such as market access and the international recognition of the value of regional products and services.
This fair is one of the most important events in the Iberian Peninsula and the second largest in Europe, welcoming more than 110 thousand visitors. The event reconciles tradition with modernity, boosting the exhibition and sale of traditional products, but also of those that incorporate design and innovation. Additionally, it promotes regional and rural development, while enhancing the use of natural resources with culture and tourism.
This exhibition will be open to the public until July 7 and the exhibition area may be visited from 3 PM to 12 AM.
