Government of the Azores allocates incentives amounting to 260 thousand Euros to development of handicrafts
Between February 12 and March 29, Craft Production Units (UPA) in the Region may apply for support provided under the Incentive Scheme for the Development of Azores Handicrafts (SIDART), which provides for an overall amount of 260 thousand Euros this year.
An order issued by the Vice-Presidency of the Government, now published in the Official Journal, indicates that eligible projects may be submitted in the areas of training or investment.
Applications should be made online on the Regional Centre for Handicrafts website (CRAA) at www.artesanato.azores.gov.pt.
The Incentive System for the Development of Azores Handicrafts was established with the purpose of promoting the sustainable development of craft activities within the scope of regional economy.
Reinforcing the quality of production and the competitiveness of craft companies are other goals that the Government of the Azores intends to achieve with this system scheme, which was established under the Azorean Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness.
In 2017, the Regional Government supported 142 projects submitted by Craft Production Units in various areas, with an overall reimbursed amount over 240 thousand Euros.
