The Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA) participates in the International Crafts Fair to take place in Lisbon from July 6 -14. The Region will be represented by its own stand.
This stand will showcase the works created by 10 Azorean craft production units that have applied for the support allocated by the CRAA under the Incentive Scheme for the Development of Azores Handicrafts - SIDART.
During the fair, Azorean artisans Maria Conceição Pereira and Maria Evangelho will create pieces using the wheat straw and dragon tree leaf techniques.
Visitors will have the opportunity of better appreciating the pieces created in these materials.
The International Handicrafts Fair, which will be held at the FIL Exhibition Hall at Parque das Nações, is considered to be one of the largest speciality fairs of Europe.
This year's edition includes the National Crafts Award on the theme "Interweaving - The Art of Fibres," which counts on the participation of Azorean artisans.
