Regional Government opens applications for handicraft support amounting to 270 thousand Euros
The Regional Government, through the Vice-Presidency, will open the period for submission of applications under the Incentive System for the Development of the Azores Handicrafts (SIDART) between February 17 and March 31.
Applications must be made exclusively online on the Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA) page at the address www.artesanato.azores.gov.pt.
An order published today in the Official Journal determines the amount of 270 thousand Euros as the budget allocation for the projects to be approved in areas ranging from training to investment in Handicraft Production Units. Individual artisans, legal persons and handicraft associations may apply for this support measure, provided that they are duly licensed and hold an "artisan license."
The amount varies between a minimum of 200 Euros and a maximum of 20 thousand Euros, non-refundable. It is limited up to 50 percent of eligible expenses in the case of applications from the islands of S. Miguel and Terceira, and to 60 percent in the case of the remaining islands.
The Incentive System for the Development of the Azores Handicrafts was created with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of handicraft activities in the regional economy, through a series of measures aimed at enhancing the quality of production and the competitiveness of handicraft companies in the Azores.
