Regional Government promotes handicraft exhibition during Praia da Vitória Festivities
The Regional Government, through the Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA), promotes, as in previous years, a handicraft exhibition under the programme of Praia da Vitória Festivities taking place on Terceira Island.
The "Praia da Vitória Azores Handicrafts," running from August 2 to 11, intends to seize the potential of a season of increased tourism flows on Terceira Island to enhance the visibility of 27 Azorean handicraft production units.
The exhibition will feature works by 27 artisans from Terceira, who will present their works in several craft areas, namely miniatures, tinworks, jewellery, synthetic materials, embroidery, lace, home textiles, weaving, clothing accessories, leather, wood miniatures, patchwork, inlay works, rag dolls, fish scales and ceramics.
The exhibition will be installed in a tent set up at the Marina of Praia da Vitória.
With the organisation of this event, CRAA aims to promote regional handicrafts and artisans as well as to support the dissemination and marketing of their products.
The "Praia da Vitória Azores Handicrafts" is organised in partnership with the City Council. It will be open to the public on Friday, August 2, from 1 PM to 12 AM and from August 3 to 11 between 7 PM and 12 AM; admission is free.
