Regional Director for Support to the Investment and Competitiveness highlights promotion of Azorean products
The Regional Director for Support to the Investment and Competitiveness highlighted today the success of the "Azores Brand" in promoting regional products, pointing out the work carried out by Azorean companies and entrepreneurs.
"The success achieved by the Azores Shop in Lisbon is based on the credibility, solidity, experience and knowledge of the Azorean market as well as of the Azorean products of feature at this space whose operation was granted to the company Fábrica de Licores Eduardo Ferreira & Filhos," said Ricardo Medeiros. He spoke at the ceremony marking the 3rd anniversary of the Azores Shop.
Ricardo Medeiros mentioned the fact that this project falls within a more comprehensive strategy implemented by the Regional Government with focus on the promotion of exports and the increase of competitiveness among regional companies.
"We also continue to promote products and companies in the Azores through the development of an annual fair plan, through business access training and business consolidation," said the government official.
According to him, "these initiatives reinforce the presence of Azorean products in the markets where they are already operating and also allow the access to new markets."
According to the Regional Director, through the Market Access measured provided for in the Competir+ incentive programme, the Government has supported the presence of Azorean companies in foreign markets as well as in the development of intraregional trade.
"Over the last three years, 120 regional companies have already been supported. The overall financial support amounts to 6.5 million Euros," added the government official.
Ricardo Medeiros assured that the Regional Government will continue to provide a series of tools to foster the competitiveness of regional companies. This process also involves the collaboration of partners, namely companies, to search for the best solutions with a view to the economic and social development of the Azores.
