The Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training (DREQP) is responsible for assisting the Vice-President of the Regional Government in the development and pursuance of policies in the areas of employment, labour, training and vocational, monitoring the implementation of the resulting measures.
Therefore, the DREQP's mission is of paramount importance in face of the challenges of promoting the employability of the Azorean population, the qualification of human resources and, consequently, the competitiveness of our business fabric.
These goals are achieved through various actions and policies tailored to the needs of their target audiences, ranging from strategies to support the integration of young people into the labour market and the integration of unemployed people with different profiles to the policies aimed at enhancing the qualifications of human resources, and fostering the entrepreneurial spirit.
The relevance of the DREQP's mission requires the permanent perception of paradigm shifts that the various challenges raise. Hence, its actions are guided by efficiency and effectiveness criteria for a consistent, concerted and structured approach towards the employability of the Azorean population as a driving force for economic growth, boosting the productivity of our companies and securing social cohesion.
In this context, the implementation of operational programmes under the European Social Fund is of utmost importance given the relevance of their impact on the Region's human development agents. Indeed, they are intended to contribute to its economic sustainability, through modern policies and resources capable of responding to problems as well as to emerging social and economic demands, which will secure the socio-professional fulfilment of Azoreans.
As such, we are available to inform, advise and guide all citizens on our mission.
