Another 600 young Azoreans began this month their professional path under "Estagiar" programme
The Regional Director for Employment and Vocational Training stressed in Ponta Delgada the "significant adherence" achieved by the "Estagiar" programme, ensuring that the support measures implemented by the Regional Government to promote youth employment "have resulted in more and better jobs."
"Another 594 young people began their professional path: 239 under "Estagiar L" after completing the university degree and 355 under "Estagiar T" after completing vocational education," said Paula Andrade.
"This measure, which has achieved a significant adherence on the part of young people, has also contributed to the fact that there are more employed Azoreans in the last 10 years," said the Regional Director. She spoke on the sidelines of a visit to INSCO Logistics Centre, owned by Grupo Bensaude.
"We highlight this measure here today because the Grupo Bensaude has been an exemplary entity in the integration of young people into the labour market," said Paula Andrade. Over the last three years, this private entity has secured the hiring of more than 55% of the 136 young people who completed the traineeship in the various companies owned by the group.
The "Estagiar" programme aims to promote the integration of young graduates into the labour world through professional traineeships lasting 18 or 24 months, while contributing to the establishment of young people on smaller islands.
The measure created by the Regional Government allows young people to have an wider knowledge about companies and organisations and reinforces the competitiveness and a rejuvenation of the human resources of the Azorean business fabric.
