Azorean youngsters participate in the 43rd International Skills Championship in Brazil
The 43rd International Skills Championship 'WorldSkills' will take place in the Brazilian city of São Paulo from August 11 to 16. The event will be attended by more than 1,230 competitors, including two Azoreans, who are graduates of the Azores School of New Technologies.
Participants from sixty countries will compete in fifty skills in what is considered to be the largest 'WorldSkills' ever.
The Portuguese delegation includes the Azorean participants Alexandre da Rosa Pacheco in the area of Electricity and Rui Caetano Braga Chaves in the area of Computer Networks. The first competitor will be accompanied by jury André Rodrigues and the second by jury José Daniel Medeiros.
Portuguese competitors are accompanied by two Team Leaders, including António José Cabral Paquete, teacher at Capelas Vocational Training School on the island of São Miguel.
'WorldSkills' is the most important skills competition worldwide.
