Government of the Azores holds Regional Employment and Vocational Training Exhibition on Terceira
The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, promotes the second edition of the 1st Regional Employment and Vocational Training Exhibition in Angra do Heroísmo between September 27 and 29.
The event involves the participation of 16 entities, of which eight are companies or business groups. It is promoted by the Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training.
During the presentation of the exhibition at a press conference held today on Terceira, the Regional Director for Employment and Vocational Training stressed that the initiative is line "with the purpose of providing a regional dimension to the event that was announced and started in Ponta Delgada last May."
Ilda Baptista said it also aims to "provide a shared space for those seeking and offering jobs, through the organisation of specific actions to disseminate employment opportunities, recruitment support programmes, professional traineeships and training programmes."
According to the Regional Director, the initiative "demonstrates the ongoing commitment of institutions and companies to employment and the improvement of employability."
At the event, with free admission, recruiting companies, vocational schools and public services present their areas of activity and provide assistance, either at the stands located in the exhibition area or in space designated for information sessions. Moreover, it features lectures and workshops that will address topics such as career management, labour market, entrepreneurship and incentive systems, and the training offer provided by educational/training institutions participating in this exhibition.
The Regional Employment and Vocational Training Exhibition will be open at Angra do Heroísmo Cultural and Congress Centre from 10 AM to 6.30 PM. It is estimated to be visited by nearly 2,000 people.
