The Regional Inspectorate of Employment carries out the inspection and monitoring of compliance with standards regarding working conditions, employment and unemployment and in the fields of occupational health, safety and hygiene.
The duties of the Regional Inspectorate of Employment are:
Supervise compliance with the provisions set forth in legislation, regulations, agreements and individual employment contracts, provide support to employment and protection in unemployment.
Supervise compliance with occupational health, safety and hygiene standards;
Check compliance with legal requirements relative to the performance of professional activities, charts of working hours, staff rosters and social balance;
Foster action to provide information to clarify recipients on the legal details of labour and the respective trade unions regarding the interpretation and effective observance of the applicable standards.
