34 youngsters from several countries start traineeships in the Azores under the Eurodyssey programme
A new group of young trainees from several countries will start their professional traineeships in the Azores; 33 youngsters will undertake a traineeship under the Eurodyssey programme and one youngster will participate in a professional traineeship programme in Quebec, Canada.
The new Eurodyssey group will stay in the Region during the next six months. The first month will be exclusively dedicated to the learning of the Portuguese language and the remaining five months will be spent in a real work environment.
The institutions and companies taking part in this initiative are located on the islands of S. Miguel, Terceira, Faial and Corvo. The traineeships cover agriculture, scientific and social areas, manufacturing, tourism, biology and environmental protection, education, administration and management, communication, audiovisuals and graphic design.
The youngsters who are in the Azores to embark on an experience provided by the Eurodyssey programme come from the regions of Brussels - Capital and Wallonia, Belgium; Rhône-Alpes, Champagne-Ardenne and Corsica, France; Catalonia, Valencia and Murcia, Spain; Istria, Croatia, and Umbria, Italy.
Eurodyssey is an exchange programme of the Assembly of European Regions (AER) that promotes traineeships abroad for a period between three and seven months. This initiative is targeted at youngsters between 18 and 30 who are looking for a job.
This programme aims to provide youngsters with professional experience and, simultaneously, provide them with the opportunity to learn a foreign language or improve their knowledge of it.
