Application period for the Regional Entrepreneurship Competition runs from May 1 to June 15
The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, promotes another edition of the Regional Entrepreneurship Competition, whose application period runs from May 1 to June 15.
Organised by the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA), the competition aims to stimulate the initiative, creativity and behaviour of entrepreneurs. Its main purpose the creation of companies in the Azores from the projects submitted to the competition.
The competition is open to individuals over 18 years, individually or in groups. Participants are required to submit projects leading to the creation innovative and feasible business projects to be implemented in the Region, which should also meet the current needs of the market.
The projects in competition should give rise to new products, processes or systems or to significant improvement of existing products, processes or systems in the target markets. These contributions should be introduced in business strategies in a coherent manner.
The competition is divided into three phases with the aim of promoting the development and consolidation of the business ideas presented in the first phase that were selected to the second and third phases. This will ensure the transformation of the winning projects into business initiatives.
The Regional Entrepreneurship Competition will award cash prizes in the amount of 25 thousand Euros to the 1st place, 20 thousand to the 2nd place and 15 thousand Euros to the 3rd place. However, these prizes will be awarded on the condition that they will be added to the share capital of the companies to be established for the development of the award-winning business.
