Azorean products from over dozen regional companies will be highlighted at a trade show that will open in Boston on June 20.
The initiative, which will take place at Portugalia Market Place shop, falls within the Annual Plan for Trade Fairs and Business Missions 2015. The latter was created by the Vice-Presidency of the Government and developed by the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores.
Portugalia Market Place is a specialty shop dedicated to the sale of Portuguese products that aims to promoting the valuation of these products as well as the differentiated quality that distinguishes them.
This trade show dedicated to Azorean products, which runs until July 7, will include several promotional activities, including tasting sessions and the exhibition of videos on regional products and the Azores Brand.
The growth in the consumption of Azorean products is one of the goals of the Annual Plan for Trade Fairs and Business Missions 2015. This requires not only the promotion of the regional products abroad, such as at Portugalia Market Place, but also within the archipelago.
In this context, the Regional will promote several fairs to promote Azorean products at commercial establishments, namely at Continente and Guarita supermarkets on São Miguel and Terceira Islands, throughout the months of June and July.
Both fairs are intended to strengthen the traditional markets of Azorean products as well as to consolidate strategies and the expansion of regional companies in the agri-food sector, especially through the expansion of the consumer universe.
In addition to these regional fairs, the Government will host the Azorean Fair during the Sanjoaninas Festivities, which take place on Terceira Island between June 19 and 27.
These regional events are an appealing strategy for the consumption of Azorean products and, alongside the Azores Brand, are intended to raise the awareness of consumers aware for an informed choice, which is decisive to reinforce the competitiveness of regional companies.
